The 2014 Jeep Cherokee
In what appears to be an attempt to pursue new markets, the newly revived 4th-edition Jeep Cherokee has undergone an extensive facelift for 2014. At the recent New York Auto Show, Chrysler debuted what's become a controversial and polarizing design. No longer looking rugged and utilitarian, the new design makes the SUV nearly unrecognizable as a Jeep. Taking off road to the streets, Jeep has taken it's rugged sturdiness and put a pretty face on it, making it more competitive in the hot mid size SUV segment, where vehicles get more stroller action than dirt roads. The off-roading abilities are still there, making the Cherokee likely the family vehicle that hauls everyone to the cottage, or serve as a dual purpose vehicle between job site and suburban family duty. Jeep calls it a capable off road vehicle that also performs well on pavement. In reality, while consumers like the idea of a rough & tough truck that will keep their family safe and manoeuvre through all situations, other factors such as fuel efficiency and car-like drivability rank higher on their list of priorities. Jeep Planning Major China Invasion
Most of the world's biggest automakers want a piece of the action in China, which has become the world's largest automotive market.. The ranks of the wealthy are growing quickly, and they have a thirst for Western vehicles, and often those from the higher end of the range. Along with premium autos, this market also seems to crave SUVs. Sales of SUVs in China are expected to outpace overall industry sales. Last week, Chrysler partnered with China's Guangzhou Automobile Group Co. (GAC); agreeing to build three Jeep SUVs there. This agreement followed two years of discussions. Jeep is now Chrysler's main international brand, and the SUV is the perfect fit for growing global markets such as China. The country is Jeep's largest market outside of the United States. This new plan includes the capacity to build 6 million cars a year. More

Italian Built Baby Jeep Coming
It's indisputable that the newly redesigned Jeep is incredibly popular. While the styling may be polarizing, long-time fans don't seem to love the new design, everyone agrees that it's a marvel of technology with the world's first nine-speed transmission. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has big plans for the Jeep brand, intending to sell one million of them this year, a huge jump of 37 percent up from last year's record of 731,565. A big part of fulfilling that ambitious plan is to offer more variations within the iconic off-road brand; hence the new Jeep Renegade subcompact SUV. Designed in the U.S. and built in Italy, the baby jeep still looks like a jeep with it's prominent grille and boxy styling, somewhat reminiscent of the Jeep Wrangler or the 2002 Jeep Liberty. The second Jeep to share a Fiat platform, the Renegade will be built on Fiat's "flexible small wide" platform found on the Fiat 500L and will likely only be available with full time all-wheel drive. Buyers can choose either gasoline or diesel engines. Fuel economy will be more than 30 mpg. More
